The victim, 53-year-old Demetrius Jones, was found in the doorway of his apartment with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police Chief Kirk Giles emphasizes the importance of community assistance, calling for any witnesses or those with security camera footage to come forward, as even minor details could significantly aid the investigation.
The incident reportedly followed a prolonged dispute between the two men, both residents of the same apartment complex. Following the shooting, officers discovered handguns in both the victim’s and suspect’s apartments.
