Dorchester County deputies have arrested a Mexican national illegally in the U.S. after discovering ten firearms and cocaine during a Friday night traffic stop. The driver, Joaquin Lopez-Rubio, exhibited suspicious behavior, prompting deputies to search his vehicle, where they found 8.6 grams of cocaine and multiple loaded magazines in addition to the weapons.
This incident not only highlights issues of illegal immigration but also raises concerns about gun safety and drug trafficking. Lopez-Rubio faces multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm by an alien and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement placing a detainer on him.
