Indianapolis Men Sentenced for CVS Armed Robbery

John Rice, 45, and Robert Larue, 29, are sentenced to prison for their roles in the armed robbery of a CVS pharmacy in Speedway, Indiana, in April 2024. U.S. District Judge James Hanlon handed Rice a six-year term and Larue over eight years, both for armed robbery and firearm possession during a violent crime.

During the heist, the duo threatened employees with firearms and fled with cash that included a GPS tracker. Thanks to rapid action by law enforcement, they were apprehended shortly afterward, with both men found carrying weapons and over $1,500 in cash. U.S. Attorney Tom Wheeler underscores the decisive efforts of local police in swiftly delivering justice in this violent crime.
