Kanawha County Sheriff Seeks Armed Robbery Suspect

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking help from the public to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery that took place Saturday night at a Dollar General Store in Rand. At approximately 10 p.m., the suspect entered the store, presented a written note demanding money, and claimed to be armed, all while attempting to obscure security cameras with an umbrella.

The suspect is described as a tall, skinny male wearing tan pants and a gray long-sleeved hoodie, who likely fled the scene in the direction of Athens Avenue. Officials urge anyone with information to contact Deputy B.L. Shamblin at 304-357-0169, with the option to remain anonymous. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about safety in local retail environments and the importance of community assistance in apprehending suspects.
