The Montgomery County Police Department is actively searching for a suspect believed to be responsible for two armed bank robberies in Kensington that took place earlier this month. Surveillance footage shows the suspect, described as a man aged 50 to 60, entering the banks with a handgun and demanding cash from employees at both the M&T Bank on February 1 and the Capital One Bank on February 7.
Details from the police indicate that the first robbery occurred around 11:30 a.m. when the suspect brandished his weapon on the counter. Just days later, he targeted a bank only half a mile away, again using a handgun to confront staff. Authorities have released images of the suspect in hopes the community can assist in his identification, and a reward of up to $10,000 may be offered for information leading to his arrest.
