Kentucky anglers and waterfowl hunters can once again use their resident licenses on select shared waters with neighboring states following new reciprocal agreements that took effect on October 16. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources finalized these agreements after the Kentucky Interim Joint Committee on Natural Resources and Energy met, allowing local sportsmen increased access to popular fishing and hunting areas.
This development is particularly significant for those who frequent locations such as the Ohio River and Dale Hollow Reservoir, which are now open to Kentucky license holders from states like Tennessee. With these renewed agreements, many outdoor enthusiasts have more opportunities to enjoy recreational activities across state lines without the need for additional permits.
