Key Dates for 2025-26 PA Hunting Season Released

The Pennsylvania Game Commission outlines key changes for the 2025-26 hunting season, including additional weeks for antlerless deer hunting and a significant reduction in the archery bear season. Notably, the allocation of antlerless deer permits will rise by 126,000, with hunters in specific wildlife management units allowed up to 21 doe tags, a substantial increase from the previous six-tag limit.

The firearms deer season will commence on the Saturday following Thanksgiving and last for two weeks, while the archery bear season is now limited to just one week from October 18-25. With these changes, including new restrictions on bull elk licenses becoming a one-time opportunity, the Game Commission aims to manage wildlife more effectively and enhance hunting opportunities for residents.
