Kingsbury Man Faces Felony Charges After Police Shooting

A 45-year-old Kingsbury man, William G. Cassell, now faces multiple felony charges after being shot by state troopers for refusing to drop a loaded shotgun. The incident occurred during a police chase that began when Cassell allegedly fled a traffic stop and subsequently crashed his truck into a home in South Glens Falls.

Troopers fired at Cassell after he pointed the shotgun at them, leading to charges of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and menacing a police officer. Following his medical treatment at Albany Medical Center, Cassell was arraigned and is currently being held in Saratoga County jail without bail. This shooting marks the third officer-involved shooting in Saratoga County this month.
