The Lawrence Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday night, resulting in critical injuries for one man. Officers received a call shortly before 11 p.m. regarding a man who had been dropped off at Lawrence Memorial Hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.
According to detectives, the shooting took place in the 1700 block of West 6th Street, and the victim was later transported to a local trauma center due to the severity of his injuries. Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the public, but they encourage anyone with information to contact them or the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers anonymously for possible cash rewards.
