Lawton Man Pleads Guilty to Illegal Firearms Charges

Jeremiah Dearing, a Lawton resident, pleads guilty to federal charges of unlawful possession of a machine gun. Authorities uncovered his illegal cache of firearms after a video call revealed him displaying an AK-47-style pistol while at the Grady County Jail.

During a subsequent search of Dearing’s home, law enforcement found multiple loaded weapons, including a privately manufactured firearm without a serial number, all equipped with high-capacity magazines. Additionally, a machine gun conversion device was discovered, which enables semi-automatic firearms to fire continuously. Dearing now faces a potential sentence of up to ten years in prison.
