LDWF Opens Applications for Lottery Hunts on WMAs

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) is now accepting applications for its deer and waterfowl lottery hunts on Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) for the upcoming 2025-2026 hunting season. Interested hunters have until August 31 to apply for deer hunts and until September 30 for waterfowl hunts, which include unique opportunities for youth between the ages of 10-17.

Applications are submitted online with a nominal fee, ensuring accessibility for all eligible hunters. Additionally, all participants in these lottery hunts will need a WMA Access Permit or a suitable hunting license. This initiative not only promotes responsible hunting but also offers a chance to immerse in Louisiana’s rich wildlife experience. For specific details including eligibility and requirements, prospective hunters can visit the LDWF website.
