Former South Carolina Senator Lee Bright officially announces his candidacy for the District 12 special election, aiming to reclaim the seat he previously held from 2009 to 2016. Known for his strong conservative stance, Bright advocates for policies like anti-abortion and pro-gun legislation, and he played a key role in securing road funding without tax increases during his earlier tenure.

With the special election scheduled for December 23 and the primary on October 21, Bright’s campaign will focus on issues such as fiscal accountability and conservative values as he competes for a return to the South Carolina Senate.
