Local Artists Tackle Gun Violence with Compelling Art

Local artists in Mecklenburg County are using their creativity to combat gun violence through powerful artwork, a collaborative effort initiated by the Arts and Science Council. This initiative will feature art pieces that highlight the emotional impact of gun violence, aiming to foster community dialogue and inspire preventive measures.

The artwork will debut at the Peace-Builders Youth Summit on March 29 and will be exhibited at various parks across the county, with titles including “Am I Next?” and “Seeding Hope.” This innovative integration of art not only addresses a crucial social issue but also engages young residents in the quest for solutions, exemplifying the community’s shared responsibility in tackling this pressing concern.
