The city’s adjustments are part of the Quiet Zone Safety Improvement Program aimed at enhancing safety at railroad crossings. While the city states the changes are for public safety, Brandenburg suspects a political motive behind the decision, given his vocal support for gun rights. With the store’s closure set for the end of the year, local patrons express sadness over the loss of a beloved community fixture that has been in operation for 69 years.
