Louisiana Wildlife Department Opens Lottery Hunt Applications

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has begun accepting applications for the popular deer and waterfowl lottery hunts scheduled for the 2025-2026 season, specifically targeting youth ages 10 to 17. The deadline for deer lottery hunt applications is August 31, while aspiring waterfowl hunters must apply by September 30, creating an exciting opportunity for young hunters across the state.

Interested applicants can easily submit their applications online, with a nominal fee of $5 and a $3.50 transaction cost. This initiative not only fosters hunting skills among the youth but also emphasizes the importance of outdoor activities. As participation continues to grow, LDWF encourages young hunters to take advantage of these lottery hunts available on select Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs).
