A 20-year-old man from Biddeford, Maine, faces multiple charges after police discovered an assault rifle and various drugs in his car during a traffic stop in Portland. James Anderson was arrested early Monday morning when officers found a large knife, which prompted a vehicle search that yielded an unloaded AK-47-style rifle, numerous rounds of ammunition, and over 17 grams of illicit drugs, including methamphetamine and crack cocaine.
Anderson’s charges now include aggravated trafficking of drugs and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Following his arrest, he was taken to Cumberland County Jail, where an additional count of trafficking in prison contraband was added. Police are seeking information from the public regarding this case, aiming to uncover further details surrounding Anderson’s activities.
