Despite this majority support, 39% of respondents remain skeptical about the effectiveness of stricter gun laws in preventing such violence, while 9% are uncertain. The national survey, conducted over August 27-28 and 31, 2025, reflects changing attitudes towards gun legislation during a period marked by heightened awareness surrounding school security issues.
