Man Arrested for Shooting Teen During Car Theft Attempt

Rochester police have arrested Felix Rivera, 47, in connection with a January shooting incident where he allegedly fired multiple shots at a 15-year-old boy attempting to steal a car. The shooting occurred on January 18 as the teenager tried to take a Hyundai from a driveway, resulting in the victim suffering non-life-threatening injuries and requiring hospitalization.

Rivera, who faces multiple weapon possession charges, was found by the U.S. Marshals on February 13, highlighting ongoing concerns about illegal firearms and public safety in the area. Due to a previous felony conviction, Rivera was prohibited from legally possessing a firearm in New York State, raising questions about enforcement and the accessibility of illegal weapons.
