Man Charged After Planning Molotov Cocktail Attack

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national, is charged with multiple attempted murder counts after allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at a pro-Israel rally in Boulder, Colorado. Authorities report that Soliman, frustrated by an inability to purchase a firearm due to his immigration status, constructed 18 homemade incendiary devices and aimed them at peaceful demonstrators advocating for Israeli hostages.

This disturbing incident, which injured 12 individuals, highlights rising tensions surrounding pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian sentiments in the U.S. Following the attack on June 1, officials discovered evidence including a makeshift blowtorch and materials for incendiary bombs in Soliman’s vehicle. The potential maximum sentence for Soliman could reach 624 years if convicted on all counts, and he faces federal hate crime charges based on his expressed motivations.
