A 62-year-old man from Marshall, Missouri, has been charged with second-degree assault following a shooting incident in Branson that left another man injured. According to court documents, Michael Joe Dale Wilson was identified as the suspect after he allegedly shot a friend in the groin during a post-drinking conversation about firearms.
Wilson reportedly retrieved an assault-style rifle from his apartment and jokingly mimicked shooting his friend, which unintentionally discharged a round. Despite sustaining a laceration to his forehead, Wilson claims it resulted from the gun’s scope when he fired. He is currently being held in the Taney County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
