A 31-year-old man is shot and killed following a physical altercation with a 32-year-old employee at a business in Chicago’s South Loop on Friday night. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of S. Michigan Avenue, where an argument escalated into violence when the employee drew a handgun during the struggle.
The victim sustained a severe head injury and, despite paramedic treatment, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity while investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The employee has been taken into custody, and a firearm has been recovered, with charges pending against the suspect.
