A man shot dead by police at Milton Keynes railway station was not carrying a gun, as initially reported, but a knife, police confirm. The incident unfolded around 12:55 PM, when armed officers confronted the man after receiving reports about a potential gun threat; he reportedly charged at them with the knife, prompting a lethal response.
Despite efforts by the officers to administer first aid, the man was pronounced dead shortly after at 1:44 PM. The police have since referred the matter to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the officers’ actions during the confrontation.
