Man Shot Dead Outside Glenwood Bar in Altercation

A 31-year-old man has died following a shooting outside the Chug a Lug bar and grill in suburban Glenwood early Sunday morning. Police were called to the scene at approximately 1:30 a.m. after reports of gunfire, where they found the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Authorities indicate that the shooting stemmed from a verbal confrontation between the victim and another group as they exited the restaurant’s parking lot.

Glenwood Mayor Ron Gardiner described the incident as “isolated” and stressed the importance of community safety, announcing plans for a summit on gun violence to seek solutions. The restaurant’s owners are cooperating with the investigation, aiming to enhance security protocols following this tragic event.
