A shooting incident near the Lakeside Shopping Center in Metairie results in the arrest of Kristopher Ellis, 32, who was shot in the back and faces multiple drug and gun-related charges. According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Ellis, along with his brother Khristian, was allegedly fired upon by occupants of a red SUV at the intersection of Veterans Boulevard and Severn Avenue, before crashing their vehicle and speeding away.
After the incident, Kristopher Ellis sought treatment for his injuries at a nearby medical center, where investigators connected him to the earlier gunfire. He is now being held without bail on charges that include possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Meanwhile, his brother faces similar charges and is held on a $280,000 bond. The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the motive behind the shooting and identify any suspects involved.
