Manchester police have charged 40-year-old Samuel Lee following his involvement in an officer-involved shooting on Interstate 84 over the weekend. After a traffic stop was initiated due to a license plate issue, Lee fled, culminating in a pursuit during which he allegedly fired multiple shots at pursuing officers, prompting a return of gunfire that left him injured.
Lee’s charges include attempted first-degree assault and unlawful discharge of a firearm, among others, with a bond set at $1 million. Notably, he had six outstanding warrants for earlier charges related to public safety officer assaults and other offenses. The incident, still under investigation, has highlighted the risks faced by officers in high-stress scenarios, as body camera footage captured critical moments from the pursuit and shooting.
