The manhunt for 24-year-old Dominic Liam Connelly continues after he is accused of murdering his grandmother and attacking a deputy sheriff. As of Saturday afternoon, Connelly remains on the run, having last been spotted near a trail camera in Vanceboro while wearing a black long sleeve shirt and camouflage pants. The Craven County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to check their surveillance footage for any signs of the suspect.
On Halloween night, law enforcement, led by the Craven County Sheriff’s Office and supported by the U.S. Marshals, deployed dozens of vehicles, drones, and helicopters in search efforts, creating a perimeter around the area where he was believed to be hiding. The incident has affected local schools, which are conducting classes online, and prompted the rescheduling of multiple Halloween events due to safety concerns.
