Mesick Man Pleads Guilty to Weapons and CSC Charges

Brian Lee Kelly, a 28-year-old from Mesick, recently entered guilty pleas in Wexford County’s circuit court for possession of a firearm by a felon and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. The charges stem from an incident that occurred between July 12 and July 25, and as part of his plea deal, Kelly will see two more serious counts dismissed at sentencing.

Kelly now faces a potential prison sentence of up to five years for the firearm charge and up to two years for the sexual conduct offense, along with substantial fines. Bond has been continued, and he is expected to be sentenced within the next four to six weeks, raising questions about the implications of this case on community safety and legal repercussions for offenders.
