Federal prosecutors reveal that Hassan Chokr, 35, plotted a violent attack against children at a Jewish daycare in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Following antisemitic threats made while driving through the daycare’s parking lot, Chokr attempted to purchase three assault weapons, claiming he intended to use them for “God’s wrath.”
Despite a prior felony conviction that should have prohibited him from buying firearms, Chokr misled the gun shop during the purchase attempt. He reportedly made belligerent statements, including that he was “going to even the score,” which raises alarming questions about the motivations behind his actions, as he now faces up to ten years in prison and hefty fines.
