Dakota Biston, a 22-year-old from Midland, receives a sentence of up to nine years in prison following his guilty plea to charges stemming from an unarmed robbery of a 15-year-old boy in July 2023. In addition to unarmed robbery, Biston pleaded guilty to multiple felonies, including carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent and possessing contraband while in prison.
The incident unfolded when the teenager sought refuge in a public restroom after Biston allegedly threatened him with a firearm while demanding money. Police later discovered a stolen gun in Biston’s vehicle, along with a bag of suspected cocaine during his booking. His sentencing reflects a serious stance on violent crimes and aims to address escalating youth victimization in the community.
