Authorities uncover a “very significant” quantity of military-grade munitions during a raid at a residence in Kings Langley, western Sydney. The operation, conducted by customs officers, was prompted by the interception of two suspicious parcels from the US and UK, which contained an inert land mine and a timer fuse.
Customs investigation manager Richard Janeczko confirms that the discovery of assorted military ordnance raises safety concerns, prompting the evacuation of nearby residents as bomb squads from the NSW Police Force and the army respond. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin of the munitions, and several individuals found at the home are currently being questioned.
