Military Weapons Transferred to Timor-Leste Forces

The Timor-Leste government officially hands over three types of military weapons to the Falintil-Defence Forces (F-FDTL) as part of efforts to modernize the military. Minister of Defence, Rear Admiral Donaciano Costa Gomes, highlights that this delivery includes M249 light machine guns, M60E6 machine guns, and Glock pistols, aimed at bolstering the institution’s operational capabilities.

These military enhancements come as the government seeks to ensure that the F-FDTL can effectively safeguard the nation and serve its people. The Chief of Staff of F-FDTL, Lieutenant General Domingos Raul, emphasizes the importance of responsible usage and maintenance of the new equipment, noting the significance of this investment made through the General State Budget.
