The Minnesota firearms deer hunting season kicks off with hunters successfully harvesting nearly 82,000 deer during the first weekend alone. This impressive figure is on track to surpass last year’s total of 170,679 deer, signaling a vibrant hunting season ahead.
Of the deer taken, 59% are adult males, while over 29% are adult females, showcasing a healthy population distribution. With five central Minnesota permit areas reporting 10,560 deer during the initial days, hunters are permitted to take up to three deer each with the proper tags. The season continues until November 23rd, inviting enthusiasts to participate in this time-honored tradition.
