The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announces that the 2025 deer hunting season will remain largely unchanged from 2024, thanks in part to another mild winter. While most areas maintain the same bag limits as last year, some regions see minor adjustments, including an increase in limits for certain deer permit areas (DPAs).
Importantly, hunters looking to take antlerless deer must purchase their licenses by September 4 to enter a lottery system for specific areas. Additionally, the DNR has introduced a simplified statewide firearms deer license, streamlining the purchasing process for hunters. The complete season schedule includes archery from September 13 through December 31, and a variety of early and late hunting options, so hunters are encouraged to review regulations closely ahead of the season.
