Missouri expands deer management webinars for landowners

The Missouri Department of Conservation, in partnership with the National Deer Association, is conducting a four-part webinar series to enhance deer management knowledge among landowners and hunters. The next session, scheduled for June 24 at 6 p.m., will delve into crucial aspects of woodland management, offering insights into practices like invasive species management and prescribed burns that can significantly improve whitetail habitat.

Ashley McCullough-Day, a private lands deer biologist, stresses the importance of understanding woodland ecosystems beyond the trees, highlighting the interconnectedness of forest floor vegetation and its role in habitat promotion. The free webinars are open to the public, with recordings available for those unable to attend live sessions, making this an accessible learning opportunity for all interested in wildlife conservation.
