Montana Governor’s Video Push for Colorado Gun Makers

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte launches a video campaign aimed at persuading Colorado gun manufacturers to relocate amid the state’s recently enacted firearm restrictions. This push follows Colorado’s new law that effectively bans the production and sale of semi-automatic firearms, including popular models like the AR-15, which is set to take effect in August 2026.

Gianforte emphasizes Montana’s support for the Second Amendment, its pro-business environment, and lower taxes as reasons for gun makers to consider moving. He reports that five out of six Colorado firearms companies he contacted are planning visits to Montana, as the state continues to attract businesses in the firearms industry—boasting the highest number of firearms manufacturers per capita in the nation.
