Monterey police unearth several illegally owned firearms while investigating a teenage e-biker who fled from officers. The 15-year-old was previously spotted breaking laws by riding on sidewalks, prompting police to attempt a traffic stop before he evaded capture and made dangerous maneuvers through the city.
Upon executing a search warrant related to the incident, officers discovered numerous unsecured guns belonging to 44-year-old Jeffrey Vandervort Sr., who is prohibited from gun ownership due to a prior felony conviction. The search led to the confiscation of 20 firearms, ammunition, and drugs found in unsecured locations, including within a child’s bedroom, raising serious safety concerns for the community.
