Montgomery Man Sentenced for Postal Carrier Robbery

A Montgomery man, Anthony Darryl Barber Jr., is sentenced to 109 months in federal prison for the armed robbery of a U.S. Postal carrier. The incident occurred on May 3, 2023, when Barber allegedly threatened the carrier with a firearm and stole a specialized postal key used for mailboxes.

Following the robbery, a high-speed chase ensued after Barber was pulled over for driving a vehicle with a stolen tag. Officers discovered a loaded Glock pistol and the stolen arrow key inside the car, underscoring the severity of his crimes. With Barber’s sentencing, authorities aim to emphasize the consequences of violent acts against postal workers who serve vital roles in the community.
