Joseph Carl Rhubright has been arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault after an altercation at a Morganton home. The incident unfolded when Rhubright allegedly entered the residence, assaulted the homeowner, and threatened them with a kitchen knife while demanding money.
After the assault, Rhubright fled with $20 and a tablet, prompting a swift response from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office. The victim was evaluated by Emergency Medical Services but declined further treatment. Rhubright has been arraigned with a secured bond set at $50,000, and his next court date is scheduled for Monday.
