Mother Shot Dead by Son in Maine Car Shooting Spree

A 29-year-old man in Maine fatally shot his mother while she was driving, then exited the vehicle to shoot at passing cars, resulting in one additional death and two injuries. The incident occurred in Sabattus on Wednesday afternoon, when James Davis III allegedly killed his mother, Christine Smith, 47, before targeting other motorists, including Katherine Williams, 53, who later succumbed to her injuries.

Following the violent outbreak, Davis took his own life, leading authorities to describe the event as a critical investigation. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene, prompting multiple police agencies to respond. Two individuals, Tyson Turner, 19, and David Wilson, 35, were injured but are anticipated to survive. As the investigation unfolds, police have yet to identify a motive behind this tragic occurrence.
