A 38-year-old man from Hackensack, New Jersey, is sentenced to 33 years in state prison for an armed robbery spree that targeted four businesses in Hudson County over just a few hours. Joel Krecz is ordered to serve a minimum of 28 years before becoming eligible for parole, following his conviction on multiple charges, including armed robbery and aggravated assault.
The robberies took place on April 30, 2022, when Krecz held up a liquor store in Union City, a gas station in Secaucus, and two additional businesses in Hoboken and Union City, all at gunpoint. Authorities linked him to the crimes after his arrest on a related gun charge just days later, highlighting the swift law enforcement response in the case.
