Authorities report that Khalil Grant, an 18-year-old resident of New Bern, has succumbed to injuries sustained during a shooting Friday night. He was transported to CarolinaEast Medical Center following the incident, which occurred shortly after 11 p.m. near McKinley Avenue and Charles Street, where police were initially alerted by a 911 call.
In a separate but related incident around the same time, police investigated gunfire reported near Queen Anne Lane, recovering multiple shell casings but finding no victims. The New Bern Police Department is urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward, emphasizing the community’s role in addressing local violence.
