New Police Chief Targets Gun Violence in Prince George’s County

George Nader officially begins his tenure as the new police chief of Prince George’s County, emphasizing a commitment to combat gun violence and illegal firearms. With over 30 years of law enforcement experience, including nearly two decades with the Prince George’s County Police Department, Nader recognizes the urgent need to address the rising number of firearms in the community.

In a conversation with FOX 5, Nader outlines his strategy to partner with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to curb illegal gun trafficking. His appointment follows the departure of former Chief Malik Aziz, who recently became a finalist for a top role in Phoenix, highlighting the ongoing shifts within the department as new leadership aims to enhance public safety.
