New Regulations for VT Waterfowl Hunting Blinds Announced

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department announces that waterfowl hunters are prohibited from placing their hunting blinds until September 6 this year. Fish and Wildlife Commissioner Jason Batchelder emphasizes this regulation aims to foster respect among hunters, enhancing their collective safety and enjoyment during the hunting season.

Once established, blinds are required to display the owner’s name and address and must be removed by May 15 of the following year, with those on Lake Champlain needing to be moved by February 15. Additionally, the annual youth waterfowl hunting weekend is set for September 27 and 28, where licensed hunters aged 17 and younger can hunt ducks and geese under adult supervision.
