The shooting occurred around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, and the injured teenager is currently recovering at Bellevue Hospital, while the apartment remains a crime scene with police collecting evidence.
Witnesses described the mother as “highly uncooperative” following the shooting, reportedly calling 911 herself. Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the gunfire and have recovered a bullet casing and narcotics from the apartment.
