Body camera video released shows a Louisville Metro Police officer firing five shots at a man who brandished a gun during an apparent mental health crisis. The incident occurred on July 2 when Officer Andrew Posante responded to a call about an intoxicated man, Garad Amir Garad, who allegedly pointed a weapon at the officers before dropping it and exiting the house.
Garad faces multiple charges, including wanton endangerment and assault, after an altercation with family members prior to the police response. Remarkably, he never fired the weapon at officers. He is currently held on a $75,000 cash bond and has pleaded not guilty. His next court date is set for July 30.
