A Scottsboro police officer is injured after being shot during a tense chase early Saturday morning, and the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Daniel Victor McCarn, is still at large. The incident began around 1:49 a.m. when police responded to reports of a domestic disturbance, prompting McCarn to flee the scene and ultimately crash the vehicle near U.S. Highway 72.
Following the crash, McCarn allegedly opened fire on the responding officers, injuring one before escaping on foot. Authorities describe McCarn as armed and dangerous, heightening concerns about public safety.
