An Ogdensburg man, Patrick Murphy, 39, is in jail following his arrest by state police on suspicion of manufacturing a variety of ghost guns, which includes both handguns and assault rifles. The arrest occurred after the execution of a search warrant related to a six-month investigation by specialized units focused on gun trafficking, revealing the alarming presence of untraceable firearms in the community.
During the search of Murphy’s residence, authorities recovered an alarming arsenal that included seven handguns, three AR-style assault rifles, a 3D printer, and numerous 3D printed firearm components. The investigation remains active, with additional charges anticipated, raising concerns about the growing trend of homemade firearms and the challenges they pose to law enforcement.
