An Old Hickory man, 25-year-old Quendez Volland, has been arrested on consecutive nights following a series of incidents involving firearms and a stolen vehicle. On Tuesday, Volland fled from police at a shooting scene while carrying marijuana and a firearm, leading to charges that included evading and resisting arrest. After being released on an $11,000 bond, he was apprehended again on Wednesday night at a gas station where detectives discovered him exiting a stolen Toyota Tacoma. While Volland managed to flee into traffic, a 14-year-old passenger took the driver’s seat and subsequently crashed the vehicle, prompting a police chase.
During the arrest, authorities recovered multiple firearms, including two Glocks, along with hydrocodone pills and marijuana from the vehicle. Volland now faces an extensive list of charges, including vehicle theft, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and firearm offenses, while the juvenile is charged in Juvenile Court with several serious crimes. This situation highlights ongoing concerns regarding gun violence and juvenile crime in the Nashville area as Volland remains in custody on a $104,000 bond.
