Orlando Man Admits Guilt in Machine Gun Sales

An Orlando man, 26-year-old Omar Joel Rivera Olivo, pleads guilty today to two counts of illegally possessing and transferring machine guns, a crime that could result in a 20-year federal prison sentence. This plea is part of Operation Take Back America, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating violent crime and addressing illegal firearm sales.

Rivera Olivo’s illegal activities include selling fully automatic weapons and devices to convert guns, engaging in eight transactions with an undercover officer. Authorities highlight that his case represents a significant step in their efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks and enhance community safety against transnational criminal organizations.
