Pennsylvania has signed a reciprocity agreement with Virginia, allowing holders of concealed carry permits from either state to carry their firearms both on their person and in vehicles while visiting. Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday emphasized that this agreement, which recognizes all valid permits, enhances rights for gun owners and aligns with existing state laws.
The agreement requires permit holders to be at least 21 years old, carry photo identification, and display their permits when requested by law enforcement. With nearly 1.7 million concealed carry permits issued in Pennsylvania as of early June 2025, this development significantly expands the rights of gun owners within the two states and adds to Pennsylvania’s existing agreements with 30 states, including Ohio and West Virginia.
